Return to Barcelona; July the 3th, 2011

Our last day in Lanzarote we spent the morning to refresh ourselves in the pool and take the usual cocktails (but of course, without alcohol).
At noon we left the room, but you can leave the luggage in a room for that purpose at the reception area. You can still enjoy all inclusive until you are picked up to be taken to the airport. In reception they had a timetable of the time they came to collect you. If you go to the welcome meeting with the tour operators they also can inform you, but we were certain that we weren't going to book excursions and we preferred not to attend this meeting.
This time the bus was punctual, but that was all, because our flight was delayed for 2 hours.

Finally we arrived at the airport of Barcelona and went straight home, since the next day we had to go back to work.

Relax at the hotel; July the 2nd , 2011

Today we preferred simply to relax in Sandos Papagayo Arena 4 * hotel. I’ll tell you a little about the hotel: we were in an AI (all included) regime and the truth is that it was not bad.

Sandos Papagayo Arena
It has 3 large swimming pools and 2 children pools with enough sun loungers for everyone, at least at the time when we were there were no problems to get one. You also have a service of towels for the swimming pool, you leave a deposit at reception that it is returned to you when you leave the hotel. You can change them daily or leave them at the end of the day and the next day you take a clean one.
Sandos Papagayo ArenaRegarding the hotel's beach, it is a black stone one and we didn’t step on it, and as far as we knew neither the rest of guests. I show you a view to give you an idea.

For eating, you have several options: the free buffet, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. With a part dedicated to Italian food, in general the food isn’t bad, but is a bit repetitive. They have a Chinese restaurant, which you must reserve and is also a buffet, but we didn’t like it as it had very little variety.
At the pool there is a bar where you can eat something since the buffet closes after breakfast until 5pm. This bar has a variety of salads, sandwiches, pasta, burgers, ice cream, fruit and for tea time they make crepes.
There is also a French restaurant we did not try, it is à la carte and you have to pay a supplement.

Sandos Papagayo ArenaSandos Papagayo ArenaThere are several options to take a snack: in the pool bar, the Canary one, a pub for adults only. About cocktails I cannot say too much since they only had 2 non-alcoholic drinks: they were good, but it did not vary much. My husband doesn’t remember anything remarkable about the cocktails with alcohol, so I presume that they were not spectacular but not bad either. Take into account that the cocktails are included until 11 o'clock.
In the afternoon there are shows for children and in the evening for adults, but I remember that schedules are quite European since when we went after dinner shows had already started.

The papagayo Beach; July 1st, 2011

Papagayo BeachIn the afternoon we had to return the car, so we went to visit the Papagayo Beach and after that to buy a few gifts to Playa Blanca. After the breakfast we drove to the Park.
We went by car from our hotel but could walk with a 15 min along a path by which you go through a hill , we reject the walk due to my pregnancy. Papagayo beaches belong to a nature reserve and if you go by car you have to pay an entrance fee of € 3 per car that serves you all day.
Papagayo BeachThe road that takes you to the beaches is ground and is considerably bumpy, thing that my stomach suffered greatly and so we stayed in the first of the beaches, Playa Mujeres, of wich I put a couple of photos. The protected area consists of 3 more beaches, Papagayo beach, del Pozo Beach and Puerto Muelas beach. It is noteworthy that the beaches are far from civilization and the contrast offered by the white sand, the black rocks and the blue of the sea.

After the visit to the beach, went for a walk through the streets of Playa Blanca and we took the opportunity to buy some souvenirs for family and friends.
At noon we returned to the hotel and we took the afternoon off and returned the rental car.
